ECR 2018 - All you need to know

The ECR is the annual meeting of the European Society of Radiology (ESR), which represents more than 75,500 members worldwide. The ECR is one of the largest medical congresses in the world, attracting more than 25,000 congress participants. With 300 companies exhibiting across more than 26,000m², its exhibition is also one of the largest medical exhibitions in Europe.

The next European Congress of Radiology (ECR 2018) will be held in Vienna (Austria Center) from February 28 to March 04. ECR 2018 edition will be dedicated to 'Diverse and United'.

Please read the interview with Prof. Bernd Hamm on the main themes of ECR 2018.

Abstract Submission:

ECR abstract submission reached an all-time high this year! A record 7,198 abstracts were submitted and a stunning increase of almost 20% in submitted papers puts the ECR above the previously unreached 3,000 papers mark.

Interventional Radiology at the Cube

The programme there is intended to introduce young radiologists to the fascinating subspecialty of interventional radiology, and to provide enhanced knowledge to radiologists who need it in their everyday professional life. Lectures and hands-on workshops focus on interaction with the participants, simulating clinical routine and concentrating on practice-oriented contents. For the new project, rooms in a nearby church have been rented, a contemporary architectural gem in a cuboid form, made of dark chromium steel; hence the term 'the Cube'.

My Thesis in 3 Minutes

This is a brand new scientific session format which we are excited to be launching at ECR 2018. It is aimed at residents and young radiologists who would like to present their thesis results as a first author, in a dynamic and entertaining scientific session.

Shape your Skills

Specifically conceived for radiographers, the new 'Shape your Skills' programme is offered and exclusively financed by the ESR in view of the continued professional development of radiographers. It is dedicated to radiographers at the beginning of their career and supports 500 professionals by giving them free registration to the ECR and two nights hotel accommodation.
Application is possible from July 3 to October 10, 2017.
